Healthy Connection Starts Here

Attachment-focused therapy supporting healing and growth across the lifespan.

the world offers itself to your imagination…”

Hi, I’m Rachael.

I am a mental health therapist in the Greater Richmond area, and I specialize in working with children ages 3-11, parents & caregivers, and adults seeking healthier relationships, greater self-understanding, and healing from various adversities and trauma experiences.

My approach is holistic and collaborative, as I believe a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship is the foundation for healing and growth. I use a trauma-informed and attachment-focused perspective to explore how early relationships shape who we are and offer insight into what we need to grow and thrive moving forward.

As a Registered Play Therapist ®, I love incorporating play, sand tray, and expressive arts into sessions. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and engage in ongoing consultation to best support individuals navigating PTSD symptoms, attachment wounds, and experiences that impact self-image and emotional safety.

I strive to create a therapeutic relationship that feels collaborative, authentic, and tailored to your unique needs. Together, we'll move at a pace that feels right for you, building on your existing strengths while working toward meaningful growth and change. Along the way, I'll bring warmth, humor, and encouragement of self-compassion, drawing from the approaches and tools I've developed throughout my career. My hope is that our work together helps you cultivate a healthier, more connected life that feels true to who you are.

A Little More About Me:

Outside of the therapy room, I am an outdoor enthusiast, dog lover, stepmom, and frequent moviegoer. My family and I are slowly checking off every U.S. National Park, and I find so much peace spending time on or near the water. All of the outdoor photos on this site are taken from my favorite adventures in nature.
